Aboriginal Mentor at Corrective Services NSW is a part-time ongoing role at Wellington Correctional Centre that centres culturally informed support for Aboriginal offenders, crisis response, delivery of cultural programs, and development of post‑release plans while building partnerships with Aboriginal communities, Elders and service providers. The position is identified and open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a requirement to confirm Aboriginality via the form or letters from community organisations. Wellington Correctional Centre is a large facility that accommodates maximum, medium, and minimum security sentenced and unsentenced male and female inmates. Staff at Wellington Correctional Centre work in a dynamic and diverse environment where no two days are the same.
