Full-time
On-site

Anzor New Zealand, the country’s leading stainless steel fasteners supplier, is looking for an Account & Business Development Manager to join the Christchurch team on site. The role concentrates on the commercial and civil markets, driving sales and ensuring customer satisfaction. Anzor is 100% Kiwi-owned and has earned a long-standing reputation for quality products and dependable service, with 12 branches nationwide. This position is ideal for someone with solid B2B sales experience and a knack for solving technical problems, who wants to grow the brand and its customer base in a busy regional market. It offers the chance to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts while collaborating with colleagues across the branch network to seize new opportunities. If you enjoy a hands-on environment and taking ownership of growth in the commercial and civil space, you’ll likely feel at home. If you’re drawn to helping customers specify stainless fasteners and play a direct role in revenue generation, this is a role where your contributions are recognized and valued. It suits you if you like working with a friendly team, are comfortable with technology, and want a clear path to expanding a regional footprint.

Making the commercial & civil footprint grow in Christchurch

The day-to-day centers on expanding Anzor’s presence in the commercial and civil sectors by bringing on new customers each month and delivering standout service to existing ones. You’ll identify opportunities, propose practical solutions, and coordinate with the wider team to convert conversations into orders. Building and sustaining strong relationships hinges on clear, proactive communication, and you’ll act as the local champion to help the branch win larger projects and bids.

Must-haves and nice-to-haves to stand out

Bring these essentials to the table, and you’ll be in a strong position to succeed. These requirements focus on hands-on experience, results, and practical details you need to operate in this role.

  • At least two years of direct, in-person B2B sales experience in a similar industry.
  • A proven track record of delivering sales growth.
  • Comfort with pursuing targets and delivering on or above them.
  • Holding a full, clean, unrestricted New Zealand driver’s license.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
  • Strong computer literacy, comfort with technology, and the ability to learn quickly in a high-energy team setting.
  • Existing contacts or relationships in the civil sector would be beneficial.
  • A sense of humour and the ability to fit into a friendly, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience selling fasteners or working in a trade environment is preferred but not required.

What you’ll get in return

Compensation includes a competitive base salary with a bonus opportunity, plus practical tools to support your role, such as a Surface Pro, a mobile phone, and a company car. Ongoing learning and development opportunities are part of the package, along with substantial support to help you grow sales and opportunities. The company operates with job security and a culture that values people and the contributions they bring, all in a Christchurch-based, onsite setting.

A few pointers for applicants, tailored to this role

Lead with your two-plus years of face-to-face B2B sales in a similar field, and highlight any concrete growth you’ve driven in commercial or civil accounts at the top of your resume so it lands quickly.

When you describe your must-have skills, back them with numbers and outcomes, demonstrate how you built relationships, expanded portfolios, and met or exceeded revenue targets, and mention your tech tools or CRM experience if relevant.

For interviews, be ready to talk through how you hunt for new opportunities, manage multiple accounts, and navigate a fast-paced environment. Have a concrete story ready about a time you won new business or grew an account in a similar sector.

Consider asking about the tools used to manage the customer database and how collaboration works across branches, for example: what CRM system is in play and how the team coordinates on larger commercial or civil projects.
