Xero is seeking an Account Executive to grow and manage relationships with accounting and bookkeeping firms in the Auckland territory, expanding our Partner channel through solid territory management and pipeline development. You’ll keep your Xero knowledge sharp to support Partners with digital strategies and drive efficiency for small businesses through the Xero suite. Join a tight-knit four-person team reporting to the Partner Sales Manager, using Salesforce to manage activity, prioritise partners, and cultivate larger or longer-term deals while increasing certified Partners and driving events and product adoption. To apply, showcase a proven SaaS sales track record, strong partner rapport, Salesforce fluency, a self-motivated, process-driven approach, and concrete examples of pipeline growth and education, plus empathetic, clear communication and a keen interest in online accounting.
The role & it's impact:
This Account Executive role is about growing and managing Xero's relationships with valued Accounting and Bookkeeping firms in your territory. In this role you will build, educate, and grow our Xero Partner channel through effective territory management and sales pipeline development.
You’ll keep your knowledge of Xero features sharp to ensure our Partners are getting the best possible support to reach their potential with digital strategies you've built with them - ultimately, you'll make small businesses more efficient using the Xero suite of tools.
The team & how they connect:
You’ll be joining a tight-knit, high-performing team of four, reporting directly to our Partner Sales Manager. This team works collaboratively to categorise and prioritise partners, sharing insights to ensure we meet our collective revenue and activity goals. We value transparency and diverse perspectives, working as a coordinated unit to create a positive impact for our Partners.
Initially, you will focus on:
Managing and prioritising new and existing Partners within your Auckland territory
Using Salesforce to manage outbound and inbound call activity as you maintain up-to-date Partner information and your calling activity
Identifying opportunities to develop business plans to produce larger or longer term deals within your book of business
Increasing the percentage of certified Partners through targeted education and re-certification attendance.
Driving attendance to Xero Sales events and presenting updates on features and functionality to drive continued engagement and product adoption.
Where and how you can work:
Xero offers a flexible working environment designed to help you do your best work. This includes a mix of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, with specific "boost days" where the team comes together in our modern office spaces to connect and innovate. This team is in the Auckland office together, two days per week.
Here are some of the things we are looking for:
You bring a proven track record in saas sales performance and a genuine interest in the evolving online accounting market.
You possess the ability to build quick and authentic rapport with partners over the phone, maintaining those relationships over the long term.
You are comfortable using CRM tools like Salesforce to manage your daily workflow.
You take ownership of your tasks with high levels of self-motivation and a process-driven approach to meeting targets.
Your communication style is human and empathetic, allowing you to exchange ideas in a way that is direct and kind.
At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team. We encourage you to apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match!
