Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Nutrien Financial Finance & Accounting, this position is responsible for accounting, analysis, and reporting for the Nutrien Financial (“NF”) business segment.  This role supports the accurate and timely reporting of the financial results for the Canadian finance programs along with ongoing data analysis for those that utilize the finance program offers.   

  

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare reports supporting program performance, aging, and utilization. 
  • Review financial reports from FBS I&R for outputs and trends.
  • Perform monthly accounting responsibilities for Nutrien Financial - Canada, which is part of Nutrien Ag Solutions, North America.
  • Analyze and report on large amounts of data compiled from multiple sources for further review and analysis by other members of the NF team.
  • Maintain complex models in Power BI and Excel to support accounting and reporting for Nutrien Financial - Canada.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate on the development of monthly accounting processes for new Finance Programs in Canada to support the growth of NF. 
  • Ensure new and established accounting processes adhere to current GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure information flow is efficient and accounting policies, processes and procedures associated with retail customer financing programs are developed and followed by Nutrien’s Field Operations.
  • Participate in various projects as requested.  

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 3 years relevant business experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with a focus on intermediate Excel skills, experience with Power BI is considered an asset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines and display a sense of urgency around month-end deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and system solutions to best support our growing business segment  
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to deal effectively in a team environment and exhibit strong business ethics
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral and listening)
