The accounting manager is the custodian of general ledger for the Group’s retail businesses. This includes ensuring financial integrity and acting as the bridge between Endeavour’s onshore Business Units and the offshore team. This ensures the accurate and timely delivery of core Record to Report activities.
This role is integral to enabling the transition and standing up of Retail accounting processes in the offshore team and jointly enabling a successful implementation of a new SAP ERP. Long term, the accounting manager is responsible for providing direction and oversight of the offshore accounting team, including championing and enabling the improvement and transformation agenda as part of transitioning to a centralised accounting team for the Group.

Stakeholder Management
Drive Business Partnerships: Cultivate strong business partnerships with Retail Business Unit teams, including FP&A, Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, eCommerce Finance and non finance teams to continuously refine management reporting frameworks, ensuring results are actionable and reflect business drivers.
Performance Mentoring: Coach and build capability across offshore team to build both technical and Endeavour business acumen
Financial Reporting & Month-End
Financial Close: Oversee the delivery of the month-end close cycle, ensuring financial integrity and timely delivery and championing a culture of rigorous quality assurance. Ensuring all journals, reconciliations, and reporting packages are completed to a high standard.
Reporting Governance: Maintain oversight of group reporting standards, including OneStream submission integrity and the strategic consolidation of P&L and balance sheet data.
Technical Expertise for Complex Accounting: Serve as the accounting subject matter expert and decision-maker for complex retail activities, resolving high-impact technical accounting challenges.
System and Process Delivery, Improvement & Projects
ERP System Delivery: Completion of new ERP testing, playing a key role with management of defects and required post go-live system enhancements
Process Excellence: Driving, setting and delivering pre and post go-live ERP processes
Transition Enablement: Onboarding, training and transition of knowledge and processes to new offshore processing team
Business initiatives: Represent Business Services to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives
System Optimisation: Leverage systems to drive efficiencies, automating manual journals and improving the integrity of financial and operating results.
Process Simplification: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best-practice standardisation.
Balance Sheet, Audit & Compliance
Reconciliations Excellence: Ensuring a secondary review for select balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls, timely risk and issue identification and resolution, and engagement with business units
Analytical Insight: Drive analytical reviews across key reconciliations to extract actionable financial insights.
Complex Reconciliations: Guide and ensure effectiveness of balance sheet reconciliations for complex and high risk balances
Audit & Reporting periods: Seamless half-year and full-year deliverables and coordination and delivery of external auditor requests and requirements.
Now let’s talk about you:
7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Shared Services, or Global Business Services, preferably with at least 3 years in a role overseeing retail related accounting functions
Experience in managing an offshore or outsourced shared service delivery model with high levels of business satisfaction is highly desirable.
Proven track record of success in driving process optimisation, leveraging technology, data and best practice insights
Exceptional business partnering and influencing skills, with an ability to anticipate and proactively prepare for business queries and requirements.
Experience in SAP S/4 HANA, Great Plains or Dynamics 365
Accounting professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA)
Experience in successful Finance technology programs (including SAP ERP implementations) is highly desirable
Experience with change management and embedding new capabilities
Measuring Success
Successful delivery of selected pre and post SAP go-live testing and performance metrics
Ongoing performance and service levels
Progressive simplification, standardisation and optimisation of processes
Outcomes of external and internal audit and risk reviews
Business and stakeholder engagement and satisfaction
