Google is seeking an Acoustic Engineer for Device Hearables in Mountain View, onsite. You will lead the design and implementation of speakers and mics in consumer electronics, partnering with cross‑functional teams and vendors to balance performance, form factor, and cost, and shepherd acoustic solutions from concept to production. Minimum qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics or related field or equivalent experience with at least four years in acoustic design for consumer products. Preferred: a master’s degree, six years in leadership, and experience with tools such as SoundCheck, Klippel, Audio Precision, Polytec and simulation tools like Ansys, COMSOL, Abaqus, Ares, plus end-to-end shipping. - Experience with acoustic test tools: SoundCheck, Klippel, Audio Precision, Polytec, etc, and simulation tools: Ansys, COMSOL, Abaqus, Ares, etc.
- Experience shipping end-to-end acoustic solutions, from product concept through production.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of speakers and mics in new consumer electronic devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional design, engineering, product, operations teams to achieve acoustic solutions balancing ambitious performance, space, cost, and user experience goals.
- Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to scope new components and technologies.
- Conduct acoustic simulations (lumped sum and finite element methods) and lab testing of acoustic modules and products to validate performance.
- Support module and product factories to define and guide assembly, test, and failure analysis efforts.
