Hours & Roster Details:

  • Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time 
  • Hours: Average 25.5 hours per week (Total of 154 hours in a 6 weekly roster cycle)
  • Shift Time: 9am – 3pm (2 days) and 10am – 4pm (2 days) 
  • Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly rotating roster across Monday - Sunday)


The purpose of this job

 

Located in Thames, Bupa Tararu Care Home enjoys a stunning coastal setting with beautiful views across the Firth of Thames. Care options include Rest Home Care, Hospital Care, and Care Suites.


As the Activities Coordinator you will: 

  • Leading a team of 2 activities staff
  • Manage activity plans for residents across rest home and hospital levels of care
  • Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences
  • Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bupa Health & Safety policies
  • Maintain personal and professional development 


What you’ll need to make it possible 

  • Have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification) 
  • Previous experience (min two years or more) in a healthcare or aged care environment is preferred
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support others
  • Creativity and enthusiasm to develop and deliver a diverse, engaging activities programme that enhances residents' wellbeing and creates a warm, caring environment
  • A compassionate, energetic, and positive team player with a genuine passion for enriching the lives of older people and catering to varying levels of ability and independence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • A full, clean driver's licence as the role may involve driving the facility van for resident outings and community activities.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
