Summerset is seeking an energetic Activities Coordinator for our Whanganui village, a full-time role from 8.00am to 4.30pm with flexibility around events. Plan and lead resident activities and celebrations such as Mid-Winter, while supporting residents and communicating with families. The ideal candidate combines a positive can-do attitude with strong interpersonal and written communication, solid organisational skills, and computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). We are looking for an energetic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Whanganui village. Ideally you will have experience in events, hospitality or aged care, but more important to us will be your genuine care of people from all walks of life.
You will plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities and events for our residents, including special celebrations such as the Mid-Winter extravaganza, Oktoberfest and Chinese new Year (to name a few). Your role will ensure that residents receive exceptional support, managing the needs of vulnerable residents and maintaining effective communication with their families. With your creative flair, you'll bring celebrations to life by decorating and creating themed experiences around key calendar events. A good level of fitness will also be beneficial for delivering exercise programs, organising regular outings, and coordinating sporting and recreational events.
This permanent full-time role working between, 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (however will need to be flexible around events).
