Alfred Health is seeking a full-time Administration Officer within the Alfred Pathology Service, based at Alfred Hospital, delivering essential front-line clerical support across switchboard, reception, test reporting, scheduling, filing and archival duties to support five pathology units and the Shared Pathology Service partnership. The ideal candidate will have a VCE, experience in clerical or receptionist roles, familiarity with iPM and Cerner, a relevant health administration qualification and solid medical terminology knowledge. Strong organisational skills, discretion, accuracy in data entry and a customer-focused approach are essential when dealing with confidential information and multi-site workflows. Department
Alfred Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing, consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health. The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Human Molecular Pathology), each headed by a Unit Head. APS has the core laboratory at The Alfred as well as a small local laboratory at Sandringham hospital. APS has several collection centres and is responsible for specimen collection of about 50% of its samples. Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to enhance and develop the Partnership across the Health Services to ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health services.
