HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a dedicated Administrator to provide desk-side support in the AMT Asset Management Software environment. The role is based onsite in Dubai and is a full-time position. It’s a hands-on job for someone who thrives delivering high-touch IT service to executive users, works well under pressure, and enjoys partnering with others to keep technology running smoothly. The company is a global IT services provider, and this role sits in its Dubai office, serving VIP users in a BAU setting.

You will be the primary on-site point of contact for end-user technology needs, ensuring fast, accurate resolutions for Windows desktops, mobile devices, and conferencing tools. Expect to work directly with executive leadership, maintain endpoint devices, and coordinate with other teams to move incidents toward resolution. You’ll also be available for standby support after office hours, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, specifically for the General Manager level and above, to keep critical operations humming.

Desk-side duties in practice

On a typical day you’ll troubleshoot hardware and software issues across PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and printers, while also handling networks and applications to restore normal service quickly. You’ll manage incidents via ServiceNow, act as the single point of contact for executive-level incidents, and coordinate with other resolver groups to ensure timely resolution or escalation as needed.

In addition, you’ll deploy and maintain endpoint devices, deliver on-site VIP IT support in a business-as-usual environment, and take care of installation, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintenance activities. The role covers support for Windows platforms, Microsoft Office versions, and conferencing tools, plus administration tasks such as OS configuration and AD management, with hands-on hardware repair and mobile device management using tools like Microsoft Intune.

What you’ll need to succeed

Must-have essentials include the following.

  • Three to five years of hands-on desktop support experience
  • Strong capability supporting Windows operating systems and a range of Office suites
  • Experience with video conferencing systems and VOIP solutions
  • Ability to standby for after-hours coverage, including weekends and public holidays, for executive leadership
  • Proven track record in incident and service management, using a formal ticketing system (ServiceNow)
  • Experience acting as the primary contact for executive-level incidents and coordinating with other teams
  • Experience deploying and maintaining endpoint devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • On-site VIP IT support in a BAU environment, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Broad hardware repair experience for laptops and mobile devices, plus OS configuration and AD administration
  • Hardware and software support experience in a BAU setting, with face-to-face interaction
  • Mobile device management experience, including iOS and Android devices, using a management platform such as Intune

Nice-to-have capabilities include the following.

  • Familiarity with Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams for video collaboration
  • Experience with building or configuring PCs/laptops and installing operating systems
  • Additional hands-on support for iOS and Android devices beyond basic management
  • VIP/Executive desk-side support experience in a similar business environment

The position is full-time and onsite in Dubai. It requires standby availability after standard hours, including weekends and public holidays, for the Company’s General Manager level and above. Tips for applicants

Lead your resume with the depth of your desktop support experience, highlighting 3-5 years in the field and your work with Windows OS, Office suites, and end-user devices. Emphasize any VIP or executive-level support you’ve provided, and note your familiarity with incident handling in ServiceNow or similar systems.

When you describe your must-have skills, frame concrete achievements: the number of incidents you owned from start to finish, times you served as the single point of contact for executives, and examples of deploying or repairing endpoint devices or handling AD administration. Use the STAR format to illustrate impact and outcomes.

Prepare for interviews by walking through real desk-side scenarios: how you triaged a divide-issue involving a Windows PC, a conferencing tool, and a mobile device, how you coordinated with other teams, and how you ensured minimal downtime for a VIP user. Be ready to discuss standby responsibilities and how you handle after-hours support while maintaining service quality.

Smart questions to bring to the conversation include: what is the expected cadence and duration of after-hours standby for General Manager level users, and how are executive incidents prioritized within ServiceNow?
