Brainlab seeks an (Advanced) Usability Engineer in Munich to join the Usability & Design team and help deliver safe, high quality medical device UX across the product life cycle. You will run usability evaluations, manage use-related risk, support cross-functional product teams, conduct user research, and translate requirements into interfaces while ensuring IEC 62366 compliance, with up to 15% international travel and occasional after-hours testing. Requirements include a degree in HCI or related field, 2+ years in usability engineering, strong communication, English and German, and experience with wireframing tools such as Figma. The Usability & Design department is responsible for usability engineering, user experience design, industrial and user interface design as well as frontend engineering of all Brainlab products.
You will join a team of Usability Engineers and collaborate closely with UX and Product Designers throughout the complete product life cycle, to ensure safe and high quality user experience of our medical devices.
Acting as a consultant and flexible team member for our product teams, you will support implementation of various usability evaluations from reviews to full blown, standard conform usability tests. You will help translate product requirements into concepts and designs for user interfaces. Additionally, you will be responsible for use-related risk management within your projects.
