Federated Co-operatives Limited is hiring a Seasonal Summer Agronomist for our Calmar AB Agro Facility, reporting to the Agronomist & Agro Manager. You’ll assist with field scouting, product shipping and receiving, merchandising of agro goods, deliveries to farms, and providing exceptional customer service while upholding health and safety standards. Ideal candidates are pursuing post-secondary study in crop sciences or agriculture, physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team. A valid AB Class 5 license is required; this role offers growth in the Agro Department. Training for TDG, WHMIS and forklift will be provided. Apply online or at [email protected]. What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Agronomist & Agro Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with field scouting and agronomy duties.
  • Assisting with product shipping and receiving.
  • Merchandising, Stocking and Rotating of Agro products.
  • Delivery and pickups at farms or other locations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Housekeeping and yard maintenance duties.
  • Maintain and follow all standards for health and safety, loss prevention, and environmental due diligence.
  • And all related duties as directed.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Agriculture and:

  • You are working on a Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as crop sciences, or agriculture.
  • Must be physically strong and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Must be creative and resourceful.
  • Must be highly motivated.
  • Will look at making this a career path, to grow with the Agro Department.
  • Must hold a valid AB Class 5 driving license.

Training will be provided to obtain TDG, Whmis and Forklift certification. Hours of work will include days, evenings, and weekends.
