We are looking for an AI Engineering Intern to join our team in Zurich from October 2026 (or by agreement) for a six-month internship with the opportunity to transition into a permanent AI Engineering role upon successful completion.

As an AI Engineering Intern, you will join our AI Engineering team in Zurich and work alongside experienced AI Engineers, Software Engineers and Consultants to develop innovative AI solutions for leading financial institutions.
This is not a research-only internship. From your very first day, you will write code, build AI-powered applications, prototype new ideas and contribute to real client and internal projects. You'll work with state-of-the-art AI technologies—including AI Agents, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)—to transform cutting-edge AI into production-ready solutions.

This internship is designed as a pipeline for future AI Engineers at Synpulse. High-performing interns will be considered for a permanent AI Engineering position upon successful completion of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-powered applications and intelligent software solutions 
• Build AI Agents using modern Large Language Models (LLMs) 
• Prototype innovative AI use cases from idea to implementation 
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions 
• Explore emerging AI technologies and evaluate their practical applicability 
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets 
• Collaborate closely with AI Engineers, Software Engineers and Consultants across international teams 
• Contribute to client projects as well as internal innovation initiatives 
• Document technical concepts and continuously improve engineering best practices

Requirements

We are looking for curious builders who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, experimenting with new technologies and continuously learning.

• Currently pursuing the final year of a Master's degree or recently graduated in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics or another quantitative Engineering discipline
• Excellent academic record from a leading university or university of applied sciences
• Strong programming skills in Python 
• Passion for Artificial Intelligence and software engineering 
• Experience with Machine Learning or Generative AI through academic or personal projects 
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities 
• Curious, self-driven and eager to learn 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
• Fluent in English and German
