Qantas is recruiting a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join the Evacuation Systems Workshop in Melbourne, tackling the repair, overhaul and maintenance of slides, reservoirs and gas generators for the Qantas Group and customer airlines. The role offers a permanent day shift 0700-1530, with potential NLCS certification after a qualifying period, and a clear path for growth in a supportive, safety focused culture. Key requirements include a Certificate IV in Aeroskills or a successful Recognition of Prior Learning, experience with safety equipment maintenance, strong teamwork, customer focus, clear communication, meticulous attention to detail, and knowledge of CASA FAA and WorkSafe obligations, plus the ability to work to tight timelines with minimal supervision. Your new position as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you work within the Evacuation Systems Workshop (Aircraft slides and rafts). In this role you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and maintenance of the latest aircraft evacuation equipment including slides, reservoirs and gas generators for Qantas Group and customer airlines
For the successful candidate, there will also be the potential for product certification qualification (NLCS) to be attained after a minimum qualification period (subject to performance and availability).
