Zip Co Limited is seeking a full-time AML/CTF Associate Analyst in Sydney, onsite with a hybrid option, to own AML/CTF investigations, conduct enhanced due diligence on high-risk applicants, monitor transactions for suspicious activity, report to AUSTRAC, perform PEP and sanctions screening, and help assess Zip’s money laundering and sanctions risk framework while collaborating with the fraud team. The purpose of the Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Operations team is to ensure that on-boarded and applying customers are suitable for the Zip platform and that customers operate in a manner that is compliant with Zip’s AML/CTF program. 

Cool stuff you'll be working on

As an AML/CTF Associate Analyst in our AML/CTF Operation team, you will own the AML/CTF investigations and ensure Zip meets its compliance obligations.

You'll also:  

• Conduct enhanced customer due diligence on high-risk customers in line with Zip’s enhanced customer due diligence standard
• In some cases, this may require contacting the customer and clarifying the source of funds and/or the purpose of the transactions
• Monitor customer transactions / behaviour to identify suspicious activity associated with money laundering and/or terrorism financing
• Report suspicious matters to AUSTRAC in line with the AUSTRAC regulatory requirements
• Undertake Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) and sanctions screening
• Assist in assessing Zip’s money laundering, terrorism and sanctions risks
• Contribute to developing transaction monitoring rules to detect ML/TF activity
• Work closely with Zip’s fraud team to ensure reportable fraud is actioned as a financial crime
• Assist in managing a financial crime compliance assurance framework

• Previous experience in AML/CTF (preferable, not essential)
