The Role

Following our continued growth and success winning and positioning ourselves to deliver current and future major infrastructure projects across Australia, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented GIS Analyst join our Melbourne team and assist on major projects in Victoria and across ANZ. 

You will play a key and growing role in the delivery of SMEC’s professional services across all parts of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in map and graphics production
  • Spatial data management 
  • Advanced data analysis
  • Development of data collection apps 

About you: 

  • 5+ years professional experience in a similar GIS role preferably within the engineering, environmental or infrastructure consulting industry.  

  • Strong proficiency in ESRI GIS applications and platforms including ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise Portal, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123 and Quick Capture.  

  • Perform advanced spatial analysis to support planning, design and assessment tasks. Advanced Python, FME and Fulcrum workflow automation experience will be looked upon favourably 

  • Experience in advanced map and graphics production as well as spatial data QA/QC on key engineering projects  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, across multi-disciplinary teams 

  • Degree qualified in GIS, Geomatics Engineering or similar discipline
