The Opportunity

As an Analyst, Overlays & DAA, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and managing total portfolio exposures through liquid beta levers.
This role sits across two complementary teams within Portfolio Design — Dynamic Asset Allocation (DAA) and Overlays — reflecting the integrated approach to managing total portfolio exposures.

The DAA team sets target portfolio exposures based on market signals, valuation insights and macroeconomic views, supporting Investment Committee decision-making.

The Overlays team executes and maintains these exposures, managing derivative strategies and ensuring the portfolio remains aligned to target positions.

You will contribute across both areas, combining analytical insight with execution discipline to support portfolio outcomes.

Responsibilities

Overlays

  • Support the execution and lifecycle management of overlay derivative transactions

  • Monitor portfolio exposures and investment activity to ensure alignment with targets

  • Develop and improve overlay models, systems and reporting

  • Contribute to process improvements, operational efficiency and investment technology initiatives

  • Build knowledge of derivative markets, counterparties and implementation approaches

Dynamic Asset Allocation (DAA)

  • Contribute to research and analysis supporting DAA recommendations

  • Undertake quantitative analysis, including back-testing and scenario modelling

  • Monitor market developments and synthesise insights into investment ideas

  • Support the evolution of modelling frameworks and decision-making tools

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to inform portfolio positioning

About You

We're looking for:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability, with high attention to detail

  • Sound judgement and problem-solving ability

  • An interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and portfolio construction

  • The ability to work with data, models and systems to inform decisions

  • A collaborative approach and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly

  • Exposure to financial markets or investment environments

  • Experience with tools such as Bloomberg, Aladdin or similar platforms

  • Programming capability (e.g. Python) or experience working with quantitative models

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, with quantitative disciplines advantageous
