Aramark, a global provider of facilities services, is looking for an Area Manager to steer cleaning operations across multiple sites in Belfast. The role is full-time and onsite, with travel between sites as part of the daily routine. It suits someone who has run cleaning or facilities management contracts before and who can drive high standards, client satisfaction, and profitability.

The company values diversity and inclusion, and it promotes an empowering environment where people can thrive. Aramark UK emphasises fairness and opportunities for all, and it supports employees with disabilities, as well as veterans and military families, through its inclusive policies. This is a hands-on leadership posting for someone who wants to own service delivery across a multi-site footprint and build lasting client relationships.

The position sits in Belfast and involves working on-site with a variety of client sites. It’s well suited to a proactive manager who can juggle client needs with operational realities, lead by example on safety and quality, and coordinate teams across locations. A successful candidate will be comfortable with regular travel between sites and will bring a practical, results-driven approach to day-to-day operations.

Managing Cleaning Operations Across Belfast Sites

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of cleaning contracts across multiple sites, ensuring that all contractual and service level requirements are met. As the main point of contact for clients, you’ll nurture strong relationships, conduct site inspections and quality audits, and drive corrective actions when performance gaps appear. Leading and supporting cleaning teams is central, including recruitment, training and supervision, to maintain consistently high standards. You’ll oversee staffing levels, rotas, attendance and performance to keep operations running smoothly while staying within budget. Controlling labour costs and consumable usage is part of your remit, with a focus on achieving profitability targets. Compliance remains a constant priority, covering Health & Safety legislation and COSHH, with risk assessments and company procedures at the forefront. When incidents or non-conformances arise, you’ll investigate and implement improvements to prevent recurrence. Finally, you’ll produce performance reports, participate in client review meetings and seek opportunities to grow and improve the service.

The Right Candidate For This Area Manager Role

  • Experience managing cleaning or facilities management contracts.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Facilities Management or Cleaning Management qualification.

Advice For Applicants For Aramark Area Manager Role

Lead with your multi-site experience and contract oversight up front on your CV. Open with a summary that calls out managing cleaning or facilities contracts, your ability to drive profitability through cost controls, and your track record of leading site teams to meet service levels across several sites, especially somewhere you’ve handled Belfast or similar urban regions.

When you describe your skills, back them with concrete examples of how you’ve managed budgets, controlled labour costs, and used data to improve performance. Be ready to show how you’ve organised rotas, tracked attendance, and supported teams to deliver high standards while staying within budget. If you have COSHH or health and safety credentials, highlight how you’ve applied those rules to everyday operations and training.

Expect questions about site inspections, quality audits and the concrete actions you took when issues were found. You’ll want to discuss how you investigated incidents or non-conformances and what improvements you implemented, plus how you communicate findings to clients and your teams. Prepare a brief story that demonstrates your ability to turn a challenging situation into a safer, more efficient process.

Ask about opportunities to grow the service across additional sites and how success is measured in client reviews. A smart question could be: what would success look like in the first six months, and how does the team collaborate with client stakeholders during review meetings to drive service growth?
