About the Role 

The Asset Manager – Facilities provides strategic leadership and oversight of facilities asset management activities, ensuring assets are planned, maintained, and renewed in line with organisational objectives and the Asset Management Excellence Framework. The role is responsible for developing Asset Class Strategies, coordinating the Annual Infrastructure Works Plan, and driving continuous improvement in asset performance, risk management, and investment decision-making. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain Asset Class Strategies using a whole-of-life asset management approach. 
  • Coordinate the preparation and integration of the Facilities Annual Infrastructure Works Plan, ensuring alignment with asset priorities, risk profiles, and delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure asset management practices meet internal governance requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards, including end-of-franchise commitments and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Infrastructure Delivery, and other stakeholders to align asset priorities. 
  • Provide strategic asset insights, reporting, and recommendations to support business objectives. 
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate asset-related risks, including infrastructure vulnerabilities, to support safe and reliable operations
  • Support capital planning, investment prioritisation, and business case development. 
  •  Demonstrate and promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all activities align with organisational safety policies, standards, and legislative requirements.

 

 

About You 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Asset Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience in asset or facilities management within infrastructure or operational environments. 
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and frameworks such as ISO 55001. 
  • Proven ability to develop and manage Asset Class Strategies and infrastructure works planning
  • Experience working with governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management processes
  • Ability to analyse asset performance data and provide strategic insights to inform decision-making
  • Demonstrated capability in coordinating complex work programs and aligning them to organisational priorities
