Assistant Cook at NMC Healthcare in Sharjah is a full-time onsite role supporting inpatient meals and the ala carte menu. You will prepare, cook and serve dishes, assist the Demi Chef de Partie with planning, and keep a clean, hygienic kitchen while maintaining records such as fridge temperatures. The job requires accommodating dietary needs, placing weekly orders, practising FIFO, and complying with Health and Safety regulations. You’ll also help with chiller and freezer checks, kitchen cleaning, and attending briefings. Preferable to include hospital or institutional kitchen background, hygiene training, inventory control and teamwork in your application. A high school diploma with a one-year craft course in Food Production is preferred, with reliability essential.


Provides Support in preparing Inpatient meal, staff food and ala carte menu

• Prepare, cook, and serve a range of dishes having regard to quantity as appropriate
for the number of Inpatient.
• Support his superior (Demi Chef de partie) in planning everyday work with ideas
and in creating good recipe.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organized working environment in the kitchen.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records relevant to the kitchen e.g., fridge
temperatures.
• Having regard to individual dietary requirements, ensuring that all guests are
provided with proper dishes to meet their needs.
• Prepare and carry out weekly ordering reflecting numbers of Inpatient attending.
• Support regular activities with the team to maintain the standard in the work.
• Maintain high level of communication about all kitchen issues.
• Check the cleanliness of all the chillers and freezers.
• Arrangement of the food items in the chillers and freezers.
• Make it sure that the food is being taken and used by using FIFO process.
• Have a clear knowledge of and adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.
• Support the Kitchen Steward / Kitchen Hand in cleaning and maintenance of the
Kitchen.
• Getting the kitchen area cleaned according to the schedule by using proper
chemicals as listed in the chart.
• Comply and follow the policies and procedures.
• Attend the briefing and meeting arranged with the Departmental heads and
Supervisors.
• Undertake any duties set to you by the Management Team that will assist in the
day-to-day running of the Organization.

High school with One year Craft course in Food Production.
