Goodstart Belgrave Heights is hiring an experienced Assistant Director for a full time, permanent role at the 60 place Belgrave Heights centre in VIC. You will work with the Centre Director to lead daily operations, mentor educators, and cover the Centre Director’s duties when needed, while driving high quality early learning, adhering to the EYLF and the Goodstart Practice Guide. As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Belgrave Heights, you'll leverage your expertise and leadership to inspire and motivate your centre team, driving continuous improvement across all areas of centre operations. Collaborate with our dedicated leadership team, forge respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, and actively engage with the local community networks.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
  • Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence
  • Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide

 

About Goodstart Belgrave Heights

Goodstart Belgrave Heights is a 60-place warm and welcoming long day care centre located at 75 Colby Drive. Set within a beautiful natural environment, our purpose-built centre provides high-quality education and care for children from nursery through to kindergarten, with strong links to the local community and a focus on play-based learning aligned to the EYLF.

As the Assistant Director, you will work closely with the Centre Director to lead daily operations and drive a high-quality learning environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will support educators, build team capability, and ensure consistent delivery of best practice.

 

• Support the Centre Director in the day-to-day leadership and management of the centre
• Lead, mentor and inspire a team of educators to deliver high-quality programs
• Embed and drive quality practices aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Foster strong relationships with children, families and the local community
• Support compliance with NQS, policies and procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement and centre performance outcomes
• Participate in the centre’s rotating roster and support across rooms as required
