MacKillop Family Services invites applications for an Assistant House Supervisor in Warrnambool. This on-site role leads the residential care team when the House Supervisor isn’t on duty, keeping a safe, stable home for young people and collaborating with the House Supervisor and Residential Care Coordinator in the Out of Home Care program. The ideal candidate has leadership experience or strong residential care background, a Diploma in Community Services or related field, and the ability to support trauma affected youth and develop behaviour plans. As the Assistant House Supervisor, you’ll help create a safe, stable, and therapeutic home environment for young people. You’ll step into leadership when the House Supervisor is not present, providing direction, support, and oversight to the residential care team.

You’ll work closely with the House Supervisor and Residential Care Coordinator as part of our Out of Home Care Program to ensure consistent, high‑quality care.

This is a Full-Time opportunity based in Warrnambool, VIC within our Out of Home Care Program. The position reports to the Residential House Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Leadership experience from any sector or strong experience working in residential care and a desire to step into leadership.
• A relevant Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, or a related qualification.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field.
• An understanding of Aboriginal culture, values, and the challenges faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and families.
• The ability to build strong, supportive relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma and present with complex needs.
• Skills in developing or implementing behaviour support strategies for children and adolescents.

You must have a:

• Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
• Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
• Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
