THE ROLE
Reporting to the Event Service Manager, the Events and Conferencing Assistant Manager assists the manager in the day-to-day running of the outlet, focusing on effective communication to further enhance the customer experience (eg. outlet readiness, briefings, service improvements and operating procedures within the set parameters). The Events and conference Assistant Manager is ultimately responsible for assisting the Event Service Manager to achieve the successful implementation, development and maintenance of all operational procedures, standards and goals within the individual business unit. Responsibility also lies in maintaining the business operation in the direct absence of the manager. Assistance in team participation, inclusive leadership, innovation, financial evaluation and business development, while ensuring optimum quality service to customers at all times in a corporate work environment.

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive experience in an event planning role in a 5-star environment
  • A passion for events operations of ALL sizes
  • Exceptional leadership, and advanced stakeholder management skills
  • Sound commercial acumen and sales skills to manage financial outcomes
  • Hospitality/business management qualifications preferred
  • 2+ years of high-end event previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Have availability to work within a 24/7 rotating roster
  • Currently hold or be willing to obtain a valid NSW RSA Certificate

Job Description

  • Relevant experience in the events operations field, ideally 3+ years of work experience as Events/Banquet Assistant Manager or similar role in a 5- star environment
  • Proven ability to lead the events operations team through a variety of events, including corporate, social and wedding
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to manage competing priorities
  • You are a forward thinker and logistic expert  - planning for your operations team success
  • A passion for events of all sizes and genuine desire to provide an exceptional customer service experience at all times
  • Currently hold or be willing to obtain a valid NSW RSA Certificate

Work across a rotating roster of morning, daytime and evening shifts
Have previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment
