Assistant Manager | Norfolk Tavern

Are you a hospitality professional ready to take the reins at one of the busiest spots in Ormeau? The Norfolk Tavern is looking for a floor-focused, highly motivated Assistant Manager who lives for the buzz of a packed house and knows how to keep a large crew moving in sync.

"The Norfolk" is a total engine room. Whether it's a packed family Sunday in the bistro, a massive crowd for a major fight night in the sports bar, or managing our premium gaming room, there is never a dull moment. We are looking for a versatile leader who loves being in the thick of it, someone who can command the floor, connect with our loyal regulars, and keep the standards sky-high across every department.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
