Merck Group is seeking an Associate Director, Value & Access Strategic Analytics for Rare Disease to lead analytics for a growing portfolio, turning payer, GPO and health system data into actionable access strategies and cross functional decision support. This hybrid Boston role can be fully remote in the US and sits within Market Access Strategic Analytics to partner with Strategy, Finance, Brand, Patient Support, Trade and Distribution, IT and other analytics teams while shaping scalable data infrastructure. You will develop strategic analytics and dashboards, run scenario analyses and market sizing, and model GTN and contract economics with internal and external data. Requirements include 5+ years in market access or payer analytics in pharma, strong US payer knowledge, expertise with payer data, and preferably rare disease exposure; advanced degree preferred. Your Role:
The Associate Director, Value & Access Strategic Analytics – Rare Disease Lead will serve as the analytical lead for a growing rare disease portfolio. This role is responsible for generating insights that inform market access strategy, optimize payer and GPO performance, and enable cross-functional decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payer, GPO, health system analytics and a strong understanding of rare disease market dynamics, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Sitting within the Market Access Strategic Analytics team, this role collaborates closely with Market Access Strategy, Account Directors, Brand teams, Patient Support, Trade & Distribution, IT, Finance, and other analytics organizations. The role requires a strong blend of analytical rigor, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
