Job Description

Provide support in the pitching and execution of investment banking transactions (encompassing M&A, debt financing solutions and Equity Capital Markets (ECM)). The role will cover the MENA / Africa corridor and spans across industries and products in accordance with the assigned pipeline and projects. 

Essential Functions Include : 

  • Lead the preparation, pitching and execution of investment banking transactions under the guidance of senior bankers. Transactions may span M&A, debt financing and equity capital markets and are all expected to be cross border (MENA / Africa).
  • Contribute to the financial and capital structuring of bespoke transactions by formulating supporting documentation and / or providing financial input which may include drafting or providing input to circulars, offering memorandums, engagement letters, term sheets, fees and definitive agreements.
  • Build, review, analyse, evaluate and maintain financial models to support capital structure advisory, debt / acquisition financing, valuations and valuation analysis, applying principles of corporate finance theory
  • Prepare financing related documents, including credit memos, business credit approvals, letter of interest and term sheets.
  • Develop, review and update deal execution timetables / project timelines, ensuring all sequencing is aligned to relevant regulatory frameworks, thereby enabling successful and swift deal execution to deliver on the client's mandates
  • Develop client networks, and with guidance from more experienced team members, maintain regular contact with a small group of clients to develop an understanding of their businesses and the drivers of their financial performance to enable the provision of bespoke and innovative client solutions.
  • Stay abreast of news, research and insights on the macro economy, market, industry and client and counterparty base. Source, collate, evaluate, and maintain relevant, quality and accurate documents, data, information and trends. Generate insights and recommendations from research, analyses and modelling findings to support more experienced team members across origination, structuring and execution workstreams.
  • Adhere to applicable policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant CIB risk, regulatory and business control requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Commerce or related disciplines 
  • 4-5 years  experience in M&A Advisory, ECM and / or Acquisition Finance teams
  • 3 years demonstrated experience in financial modelling and valuations 
  • 3 years experience in leading or managing M&A processes including diligence workstreams
  • 3 years experience preparing pitch decks, models and other information packages
  • 2 -3 demonstrated Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in MENA and / or Africa wpuld be an advantage  
  • Must be comfortable and available to travel for deal execution as required
