Required: JD or equivalent, bar admission, and at least three years of attorney-level practice in government, in-house, or a law firm, plus experience in e-commerce, shopping, or creator marketing. Preferred: knowledge of privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation or IP in tech. You will counsel on YouTube Shopping features, creator agreements, and disclosure tools, and oversee compliance with FTC guidelines and international standards. As Product Counsel for YouTube Core Product, you will act as a trusted legal advisor to product managers, software engineers, UX designers, and operational leads across YouTube’s core product surfaces. You will guide new feature launches from initial architectural concept through design, testing, and global rollout.
In this role, you will address legal issues spanning platform liability, digital accessibility, user privacy, content rights, consumer protection, and dynamic algorithmic transparency across global markets.
