Merck Group is seeking an Associate Scientist 2 to join the Glasgow Cell Biology Team, performing a range of assays to support biosafety testing under GLP/GMP, documenting observations, and ensuring compliance while collaborating with Supervisors and senior colleagues. The role involves aseptic product handling, potential cross-training in other areas, and occasional work from the Stirling site. The right candidate will have at least an HND in Biological Science, 1+ year of relevant industry experience, and preferably experience with aseptic technique; strong planning, prioritization, problem solving, and communication; self-motivation and a commitment to quality and safety; and computer literacy, ideally with LIMS. Your role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist 2 to join our Cell Biology Team in Glasgow. The Cell Biology team performs a wide variety of assays to support biosafety testing of client product under GLP/ GMP conditions, making scientific observations and completing documentation to the required industry standards. Your Responsibilities include aseptic product handling, documentation completion (including verification signatures), ensuring activities are compliant and working with Supervisors to ensure the facility is maintained within regulatory expectations. You will also work closely with Senior Associate Scientist, Scientist and Associate Scientist teams to ensure each day is organized and activities performed correctly. Please note that this position is flexible and you may be required to train in other areas of the company and may be required to work from our Stirling site on occasion.
