Your Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist to join our Molecular Biology team with a focus on Pathogen Detection (qPCR). The post holder will perform routine and custom GMP studies as required, maintain good laboratory housekeeping and working practices, maintain equipment and control stock to ensure the smooth running of the laboratories.
This role will be working on a condensed hours (4 day working week) and will include working 1 in 4 weekends.
This role will be offered as either an Associate Scientist 1 (9 or 12 month fixed term contract) or Associate Scientist 2 (permanent role) depending on the level of experience of the successful candidate. We welcome applicants who have recently completed their degree or those with existing work experience. If applying as an Associate Scientist 2 candidate the role will also include training and mentoring junior members of staff, actively contributing to key projects within the departments, and driving forward quality improvement initiatives.
