JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization and under the supervision of the Manager and direction of the Audiologist, the Audiometric Technician performs a variety of designated screening tests, assists with the provision of clinical audiology services and supports the use of hearing equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, completion a diploma in a health or social services related field and one (1) year recent related clinical experience as an audiometric technician working with infants, children, and their families and with clients with developmental disabilities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Valid BC Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to prioritize and organize workloadAbility to practice and deliver client and family centered careAbility to work with others effectivelyAbility to work in preschools, schools and community health care settings.Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clientsAbility to typeKnowledge of medical terminologyKnowledge of general office proceduresAbility to operate related equipmentPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the positionThe hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
