Summary:

Operates equipment to apply resin-based coverings to paper machine rolls, including surface prep, setup, and material handling. Maintains quality standards, manages raw materials, and follows established procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate resin-fiberglass and/or resin-Kevlar manufacturing equipment used in the paper machine roll covering process. 
  • Prepare roll surface for covering process. 
  • Set roll up into lathe for cover build.
  • Unload raw materials and transfer into holding tanks.
  • Manage and inventory raw materials. 
  • Control process to maintain conformance to specifications.
  • Use power tools to construct wood forms used in roll cover manufacturing process. 
  • Use cranes and mobile equipment to move raw materials and paper machine rolls through the manufacturing process. 
  • Perform all job requirements according to procedures as outlined in the VOITH Quality Manual, Company Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Reports problems to higher levels of authority as required by the Quality System.
  • All other duties that may be assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately perform all mathematical calculations required for product formulations.
  • Ability to operate all fork trucks and cranes safely.
  • High School graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Vocational school graduate or apprenticeship in production machinery operation or equivalent is desired, but not required.    
  • Previous experience with resin-fiberglass, resin-Kevlar manufacturing, or chemical process operation is a plus.
