Orica is hiring multiple Bench Assistants for the North Surface Coal team in Central Queensland. This full-time onsite role follows a 7-on/7-off DIDO roster with camp facilities and supports shotfirers and MMU operators in loading and blasting tasks while prioritising safety and environmental care. You will need a proven track record in physically demanding work, the ability to pass a QLD Explosives Security Clearance, and a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. A positive team-based attitude and a willingness to learn are essential. As a Bench Assistant, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality bulk explosive services to customers, always prioritizing safety and care for the environment. You will work alongside the Shotfirer or On Bench Supervisors on-site, helping with tasks like loading, tying, and firing blasts. These roles will be Drive-in Drive-out (DIDO), operating mostly on a 7 days on/7 days off rosters, and camp facilities will be provided for the duration of the roster.
