Job Description
The Bid Manager manages the development of high-quality bids including bespoke solutions as per client requirements, following a structured bid process, with the aim to win relevant contracts for Iqarus and other relevant business lines within International SOS’s Government Services International. The incumbent manages relevant opportunities from identification, capture, qualification and through contract award, including managing the solution design process, articulation of the value proposition, strategy development, key commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Strategic Capture
- Support the development and execution of capture strategies for opportunities, including conducting competition analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams including operations, pricing, legal and subject matter experts, to create innovative and commercially viable solutions starting at the capture stage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to:
- Collect intelligence and information about upcoming procurement/project opportunities
- Influence decision-making and align solutions with client needs.
- Bid Management:
- Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identification through capture, live proposal, and bid submission up to award stages.
- Develop and articulate bespoke solutions, value propositions, and win strategies that align with client requirements and organisational objectives.
- Facilitate and ensure compliance to bid qualification (bid/no-bid) processes.
- Coordinate input from all relevant internal and external stakeholders and incorporate those into proposals
- Ensure the bid articulates key messages, value proposition and differentiators and comply with the requirements of solicitations
- Conduct bid reviews, and support continuous improvement in proposal quality and effectiveness
- Provide technical writing, editing, and proof-reading of proposals
- Manage multiple bids and competing priorities through effective organisation and time management
- Collaborate with the commercial/pricing team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, compliant, and commercially competitive bid submissions
- Schedule and conduct effective bid reviews, and obtain the necessary signoffs
- Implement and adhere to the bid procedures, governance and processes
- Organize and facilitate lessons’ learned meetings following bid submission
- Participate in the contract review post award through to the Handover Takeover Process (HOTO)
- Provide ongoing recommendations to incorporate lessons learned in bidding activities into bid management processes to improve win rates
- Maintain accurate data on Salesforce and information management systems
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company processes, supporting tools, templates, and management of the Bid Library.
- Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder

Qualifications
- Preferably degree‑educated.
- Shipley certification or Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) accreditation is highly desirable.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in bid management.
- Strong, demonstrable bid writing capabilities.
- Experience preparing proposals for UN, US, UK, and EU government and defence contracts, including development‑focused submissions, is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, SharePoint, or similar workflow/CRM systems is desirable.
