You'll operate our bitumen sprayer, support spray sealing activities, and work alongside the crew to deliver safe, high-quality road surfacing outcomes. In this role, you'll help create safer roads for the communities we work in while ensuring plant performance, quality workmanship and safety remain front and centre.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone with experience in bitumen operations who takes pride in delivering quality work. Working closely with the surfacing crew, you'll operate and maintain the bitumen sprayer, support spray sealing activities and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the region. You'll play an important part in keeping work moving safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of plant care, quality and teamwork.
Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities
Operate the bitumen sprayer to deliver spray sealing work safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
Complete pre-start inspections and ensure plant is fit for purpose, inducted and ready for daily operations.
Load, unload and transport equipment and materials to and from work sites.
Handle bituminous products and support aggregate spreading and rolling activities.
Take ownership of the day-to-day operation and care of the sprayer while following work plans and schedules.
Promote a strong safety culture by following site controls, reporting incidents, identifying hazards and contributing to continuous improvement.
Assist with general labouring duties and provide support to the wider surfacing crew as required.
