As a Blender Developer, you will contribute to the architecture and implementation of the ongoing evolution of the Blender pipeline at Mikros Animation.
You will be expected to work with a high level of autonomy and make significant contributions to the design of the project’s components.
Part of the team’s work involves setting up workflows for artists and providing them with support during production. You will participate in this effort according to your skills and progressively acquire the knowledge required to do so.
You will work closely with the artistic teams on ongoing productions.
Responsibilities
Develop tools and associated procedures to support feature film production workflows using Blender.
Understand the artistic requirements of the project, as well as the technical processes and production tools needed to meet them.
Test and validate new versions of existing tools within an active production environment.
Create and maintain technical documentation for the developed tools.
Work closely with production teams and other TDs.
Implement efficient strategies that meet the project’s requirements.
Follow Mikros Animation’s coding standards to ensure code readability and maintainability.
Strong knowledge of Python development.
Previous experience as a TD on animated feature films, animated TV series, and/or VFX feature films.
In-depth knowledge of Blender.
Ability to organize work efficiently, prioritize artists’ requests, and meet production deadlines.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken), including technical English.
Ability to adapt technical and artistic communication to different audiences.
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to share knowledge.
Optional Skills
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
C++ programming skills.
