Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $24.40
After 90 Days: $27.45
After 180 Days: $30.50
The Bulk Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, and handling bulk materials while using various types of tools and machinery. This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting bulk handling machinery while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The Bulk Operator also supports general maintenance and assists team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
•Load and unload barges, trucks, and rail cars as part of a team operation
•Operate various equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, and hand tools
•Diagnose and perform basic maintenance on bulk handling equipment to ensure optimal performance
•Service and lubricate machinery, testing repaired equipment to verify compliance with specifications
•Assist in transporting and moving bulk materials
•Maintain clean and organized work areas; support equipment maintenance activities as directed
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position and location. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steer loaders preferred
•Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
Willingness to obtain certification on machinery used for operations, if not already certified
•The ability to swim is a plus
•Strong initiative with the ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment
•Commitment to completing required safety training and certifications as mandated by customers and Watco Companies
•Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts, with availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs
•Forklift or other Equipment certification or the ability to obtain one
•Valid Driver’s License
•Current or able to obtain a Transportation Worker •Identification Credential (TWIC Card)
