Job Description

The Business Analyst (AI & Automation) partners across Abano’s support functions to identify manual effort, inefficiencies, and opportunities to streamline processes through automation and the appropriate use of AI.

This is a hands-on role, with the Business Analyst working closely within teams to understand how work is performed day to day and translating those insights into clear, practical documentation that enables IT to deliver effective, scalable solutions.

This is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Responsibilities

  • Functional Discovery & Process Analysis
    Partner with business functions to understand current ways of working, identify inefficiencies, and validate existing processes against real-world practice. Update documentation where needed to ensure accuracy for automation and change initiatives.

  • Risk & Control Identification
    Identify where human oversight is required and document operational risks, including system or automation failure scenarios. Support the definition of contingency processes and service expectations with IT and stakeholders.

  • AI & Automation Opportunities
    Identify and prioritise opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve workflows, including across team hand-offs. Assess opportunities based on value, effort, risk, and readiness.

  • Requirements & Delivery Support
    Translate business needs into clear, practical requirements for IT, ensuring solutions are feasible, well-sequenced, and aligned to business priorities.

  • Governance & Compliance
    Ensure all initiatives align with AI governance, approved tools, and internal policies, escalating where required.

  • Benefits & Adoption
    Define success measures, support benefits tracking, and contribute to adoption planning to ensure solutions are effectively embedded.

Qualifications

Essential Experience:  

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst in complex, cross‑functional environments.  
  • Comfortable working directly with Finance, Operations, HR/P&C and other corporate teams.  
  • Able to explain process and technology concepts in plain English.  
  • Comfortable working in governed environments with controls and compliance requirements.  

Desirable Experience:  

  • Exposure to automation or AI‑enabled process improvement.  
  • Familiarity with Microsoft‑based enterprise environments.
