Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Business/Data Analyst – Marsh Risk

This is an opportunity to support Marsh Risk’s Pacific placement function by turning data into practical insights and helping improve how the team works. You will combine business analysis and data analysis to deliver reporting, support process improvements and help stakeholders make informed decisions.

We will count on you to:

  • Extract, clean and transform data from multiple sources, including quotation systems, fiduciary systems, spreadsheets and third-party datasets, to create reliable analysis-ready datasets

  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports and ad hoc analyses that track placement KPIs, utilisation and penetration across multiple business segments

  • Develop data models and use exploratory and statistical analysis to answer business questions and measure impact

  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, data capture and data structure, working with system owners to implement enhancements

  • Manage small to medium business change projects, including problem investigation, requirements gathering, project planning, user acceptance testing and change adoption

  • Partner with stakeholders, including senior leaders, to understand requirements, provide practical solutions and document processes clearly, while applying data governance, privacy and security standards

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field, or equivalent experience in business analysis, data analysis or a similar role

  • Demonstrated understanding of data modelling, data quality practices and basic statistical analysis

  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and working with large datasets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and solve problems effectively
