We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will be responsible to establish a Chemical focused Freight Forwarding Division, to identify and evaluate opportunities, establish and then maintain customer relationships, that integrates with existing chemical services offered. 

You will be joining a professional and international team with extensive knowledge of the industry. Working closely with our customers and vendors, you will provide customers with excellent service. Your expertise ensures that we will continue to set the industry benchmark for seamless and efficient.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in developing and implementing a business strategy, pricing guidelines and service offering to existing and new chemical customers.

  • Research, monitor and report on competition and local market activities, regionally.

  • Actively searches for opportunities by identifying and establishing new customer relationships; is expected to be outside visiting customers and prospects at least 50% of the time.

  • Coordinates account activity and pricing strategy in conjunction with the Regional Director MEA, ensuring alignment with the company’s local & global strategy and account plans.

  • Target account plan development for new customers and key prospects in CRM.

  • Follows up on inquiries for all levels of transport service, while prioritizing opportunities according to targeted customer segments.

  • Preparing quotations and participating in freight tenders in line with services offered/ requested.

  • Actively engages in staff/ management meetings for sharing commercial strategy and regional/ global market knowledge.

  • Assists in projects and management tasks as they arise.

  • Timely preparation and distribution of customers visit reports in the CRM system.

  • Timely updates of opportunities and sales forecasts within the Company’s systems.

  • Establish KPIs in the CRM system and updates sales forecasts accordingly. Qualify leads and opportunities to Win/Loss in CRM and if known capture Market price, Competitor and Loss reasons.

  • Assists accounting and Director with accounts receivable problems on customers in his area of responsibility.

  • Ensures proper communication and implementation of specific accounting instructions and agreements with customers.

  • Ensures any reporting requirements are being met (as needed by local or division management).

Qualifications

  • Experienced sales professional with a proven track record in freight forwarding and driving profitable growth while exceeding sales goals, with traceable references.

  • Related Bachelors or Masters degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding mainly focused on sea-freight, in the GCC region.

  • Latest experience working for a large International Freight Forwarder preferred and understanding of global corporate culture and protocols.

  • Strong Knowledge of Incoterms and other contractual criteria.

  • Knowledgeable and proficient with freight tenders.
