Business Development Manager – Data Centre Fibre Solutions (UK & Europe)

Join a Global Market Leader and Build a New Division from the Ground Up

£60,000 - £75,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

A major global manufacturer of fibre optic and connectivity solutions is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to establish and grow its Data Centre Fibre business across the UK and Europe.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a brand-new market initiative, with the autonomy to shape strategy, build customer relationships and create a significant revenue stream across one of the fastest-growing sectors in Europe.

The business has a strong international presence, extensive manufacturing capability and a long-standing reputation for delivering fibre optic and communications infrastructure solutions worldwide.

The Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing the UK and European market for single-mode fibre solutions within the data centre sector.

Working closely with consultants, distributors, contractors and end-users, you'll drive specification, build strategic partnerships and position the business as a preferred supplier for major data centre projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy across the UK and Europe.
  • Drive product specification through M&E Consultants, Data Centre Design Consultants and Engineering Practices.
  • Build relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, end users and key stakeholders within the data centre ecosystem.
  • Identify, appoint and develop distribution and reseller partners across Europe.
  • Generate and convert opportunities from early-stage design through to project delivery.
  • Manage complex sales cycles involving consultants, contractors, distributors and end users.
  • Deliver market intelligence and help shape the long-term strategy for the division.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and customer meetings throughout Europe.

About You

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in:

  • Selling single-mode fibre or fibre optic solutions.
  • Data centre connectivity and communications infrastructure.
  • Structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions.
  • Telecommunications infrastructure products.
  • Consultant-led specification sales.

You may currently work for a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or systems integrator.

Successful candidates are likely to have:

  • Experience selling into the data centre market.
  • A strong network of M&E Consultants, design consultants and engineering firms.
  • A proven track record of winning specifications and influencing projects at design stage.
  • Experience developing channel, reseller or distribution networks.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a genuine new business mindset.
  • The credibility to engage with both technical and commercial decision makers.
  • A passion for building markets and creating opportunities where none currently exist.

What's on Offer?

  • Opportunity to build and lead a new market initiative across the UK and Europe.
  • Full backing of a major global organisation with significant investment and long-term ambitions in the data centre sector.
  • High levels of autonomy and visibility within the business.
  • A genuine chance to shape the direction of a growing division.
  • Excellent salary, bonus and career progression opportunities.

The Ideal Background

This role would suit an ambitious Business Development Manager who has sold single-mode fibre either through distribution and reseller channels or by driving specification with M&E Consultants and consulting engineers.

If you've successfully developed business within the data centre market and are looking for the opportunity to build something substantial with the support of a global industry leader, we'd love to hear from you.
