A Taste of What You'll Do
As a Business Development Manager – Retail Wine & Spirits, you’ll play a critical role in driving growth and maximizing contribution across assigned retail markets. You are accountable for executing the sales plan, delivering revenue results, and representing GALLO brands with both distributor partners and retail customers. Through strong relationships, strategic decision-making, and thoughtful use of market data, you’ll influence pricing, programming, and execution to ensure our brands win in the marketplace.
This role balances winery-facing strategy with distributor and field execution. You’ll focus your time where it matters most—prioritizing the biggest opportunities, responding to changing market dynamics, and reallocating resources to drive performance. You’ll collaborate closely with distributor leadership to execute annual plans, negotiate objectives, oversee national promotions, and ensure sales managers and teams are delivering against expectations.
In the field, you’ll support launches, lead sales training, conduct tastings, and engage key on- and off-premise accounts. You’ll analyze performance data, gather marketing intelligence, and leverage technology to identify opportunities and guide action. As a GALLO ambassador, you’ll actively promote our brands through events, consumer engagement, and community presence, while embracing innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset to help shape the future of our portfolio.
