You will lead a high performing team and partner across Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce and Marketing to optimise stock flow. Bring proven merchandise or demand planning leadership in retail, strong financial acumen, expert forecasting and replenishment, and data driven analytical capability to translate insights into action. At BCF, we don’t just sell gear — we help customers get out there and live their passion. And behind every great range is a smart, strategic planning team making it happen. We’re on the hunt for a Business Manager – Planning to lead our Soft Goods (Clothing & Footwear) business unit — a dynamic, seasonal and high-impact category where great planning truly drives performance.

Why this role matters

This is a senior leadership role at the centre of our merchandising engine. You’ll lead the planning strategy, inventory investment, and demand planning capability for your business unit — ensuring the right product lands in the right place, at the right time, to drive sales, margin and stock productivity. You’ll also lead a high-performing team, shape how we plan across channels, and influence outcomes right across the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and deliver the planning strategy for Soft Goods - aligning to Business Unit objectives and driving sales, margin and inventory performance
  • Lead financial planning and inventory investment decisions, including budgets, seasonal targets, forecasting, replenishment and OTB management
  • Drive stock productivity and performance outcomes through data-led insights, sell-through strategies and continuous review of key metrics (e.g. stock turn, GMROI)
  • Partner and influence across the business - collaborating with Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, Marketing and Trade Partners to optimise stock flow and availability
  • Build, lead and evolve a high-performing planning team, embedding best practice processes, tools and continuous improvement across planning capabilities

What you’ll bring

You’re equal parts strategic thinker and commercial operator — confident leading through complexity and influencing outcomes across the business. You’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience leading a merchandise or demand planning team in a retail environment
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing large inventory portfolios, stock turn and working capital
  • Deep expertise in forecasting, replenishment and merchandise planning
  • Advanced analytical capability — able to translate data into clear actions and recommendations
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in apparel and footwear categories highly regarded, in seasonal and non-seasonal replenishment.

Why join BCF?

  • Flexible hybrid working based out of our Strathpine Support Office
  • Performance-driven rewards – Competitive salary package with additional bonus linked to commercial outcomes
