Timaru PAK’nSAVE is seeking a full-time butcher, apprentice, or experienced knife-hand for its busy in-store team. The role runs Sunday to Thursday, 40 hours, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, onsite. You will prepare cuts to retail specs, label and present products, rotate stock, monitor levels and support ordering, share your knowledge with customers and teammates, and follow all Food Safety and Health & Safety rules while assisting packers and retail staff. The team values a strong work ethic, teamwork, a sense of humor, knife skills, food safety discipline and stock control. As one of the biggest and busiest retail butcheries in the region, our in-store butchery here at PAK’nSAVE Timaru is proud to play a key role in feeding South Canterbury.  To keep us at the top of our game, we are looking for a butcher, apprentice butcher or experienced knife-hand to join our team. 

 

We need you to know the ins and outs of what makes a butchery great including:

 

  • Preparing all cuts to retail specifications 
  • Ensuring all your hard work is presented well and correctly labelled
  • Checking dates and rotating stock
  • Monitoring stock levels and supporting our ordering processes
  • Sharing your knowledge with our team and customers, providing friendly, professional customer service and help with enquiries
  • Following all Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements
  • Assisting our packers and retail staff where required

 

The Wishlist from our butchery team also includes someone with excellent work ethic, a team mentality and a sense of humour. 

 

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week Sunday – Thursday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
