Sobeys is seeking a full‑time Buyer based in Toronto with options to be based in Montreal or Vaughan, to deliver KPI‑driven performance across service level, web shop availability, inventory turns and fresh shrink. You will manage category service levels and inventory, execute replenishment for regular, promotional and investment buys, and develop best‑practice inventory processes that meet benchmarks for order fill, freshness, shrink and turns while supporting regional and banner strategies. Monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities with vendors, Category Management, Merchandising, Replenishment and Logistics. To apply, emphasize your education (degree with 2+ years or DEC with 4+ years), demand forecasting, Excel (intermediate), SAP familiarity, and Fresh/Produce buying experience, plus a proven ability to lift service and turns.

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Buyer. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Montreal; QC, Vaughan, Toronto, ON.
Here’s where you’ll have an impact:
• Deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success based on service level, web shop availability, inventory turns and shrink (fresh)
• Manage service level and inventory performance for respective categories
• Perform replenishment process, to include purchase order execution for regular turns, promotional, and investment buying
• Accountable for service level and inventory turns
• Support the development and execution of best-practice inventory management processes that will meet or exceed benchmarks for customer order fill, freshness, shrink and inventory turns
• Ensure that the replenishment function meets budgeted financial targets and contributes to the respective region and banner strategies
• Monitor and take appropriate action on vendor performance with respect to order fill and on time delivery
• Identify and communicate opportunities with vendors, Category Management, Merchandising, Replenishment, and Logistics on areas for improvement
• Accountable for service levels and turns.

What you’ll offer:
• An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a DEC and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of principles of demand forecasting and inventory planning
• Extensive knowledge of Excel (intermediate)
• Buying experience in Fresh, Produce category preferable
• Knowledge and experience of working with SAP system is considered as asset
