Arvida’s Cafe Manager role in Christchurch is a full-time onsite leadership position focused on running the cafe as a welcoming hub for residents and visitors, managing supplies and budget, supervising the cafe team, ensuring Food Control Plan compliance, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver a first class experience within the Attitude of Living Well framework. Key requirements include a current NZ Food Safety Certificate, Word Excel and POS skills, kitchen experience or similar, strong communication, physical stamina, organisational and problem solving abilities, and a genuine empathy for older people. The role offers 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, a competitive rate, ongoing training and a collaborative culture. Our cafe is a central hub of our Good Friends community, well-loved by residents and visitors alike. As Cafe Manager, you play a vital role in the well-being of our community through quality food service and great customer care (and excellent coffee!)
You'll be responsible for the overall smooth and efficient running of the cafe, including supply and budget requirements, team management, compliance with our Food Control Plan, and collaboration with other members of the wider team to deliver a first-class experience.
