That’s why we are seeking a like-minded casual Caregiver to join our Bupa Tōtara Gardens Care Home located in Tikipunga, Whangārei. You will help us rise to the challenges of enriching the lives of society’s most vulnerable. 


This is a casual position, so there are no guaranteed hours per week. You should have flexibility to pick up a range of shifts Monday - Sunday. You will also be able to pick up shifts at our nearby Merrivale Care Home based in Te Kamo.

  

As a Caregiver at Bupa, you will work under the guidance and supervision of qualified nursing staff and management, to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. You will be encouraged to develop deeper relationships with residents and their families, delivering the highest quality person first care to residents in line with their individual care plan. 

 

Where You Will Make an Impact  

  • Provide personal care assistance with daily living, whilst treating our 56 residents with respect and dignity across rest home, hospital, and dementia levels of care.
  • Mobility assistance in accordance with resident care plans.
  • Maintain accurate health care documentation as required.
  • Encourage all residents to participate in scheduled social activities.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive, safe, home environment for residents, visitors, and the wider team.

 

What About You

  • An NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate Level 2-4 is preferred.
  • Previous experience ideally within aged care or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, dedication to care, and passion for enriching the lives of the elderly.
  • Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
