Summerset is hiring a fixed term Caregiver for Summerset Mountain Village in Hurworth, Taranaki, NZ, July 2026 through February 2027, delivering 60-80 hours per fortnight on a 4 days on, 2 days off PM roster. You will provide personal care, meals, hygiene, support with individual care plans, and engage residents in activities and gentle exercise. We’re looking for empathetic, patient carers with aged care experience, a Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 certificate, and strong communication to build lasting relationships. Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Summerset Mountain Village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a fixed term role from July 2026 - February 2027, working 60 - 80 hours per fortnight on a 4 days on, 2 days off PM roster.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• A Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 certificate
• A passion for aged care
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off on PM shifts
