Berry Street is hiring two full‑time Case Manager roles in Shepparton for Kinship Care, with permanent and fixed‑term (parental leave) contracts. These onsite roles focus on statutory kinship care case management across the Hume region, enhancing formal and informal supports while aligning practice with Home Based Care and CYFA 2005 in partnership with child protection. Ideal candidates will engage trauma‑informedly with children, young people and kinship families and hold a Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work or equivalent, with a Bachelor’s preferred. Berry Street provides Kinship Care services to children and their families in the Hume region. Kinship Care is the care provided to a child/young person or sibling group by their extended family or network when they are unable to be cared for by their biological parents.
This position has an outreach focus in the community with service delivery across the Hume region.
Key Responsibilities
You will have demonstrated ability to effectively engage with children, young people and their kinship families and demonstrate understanding of the inter-generational factors and complex relationships between extended family members that can impact kinship placements.
Experience working with children, young people and families through an attachment and trauma-based lens is essential.
Minimum qualification requirements for this role are a Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work or relevant field with intermediate experience in the sector, Bachelor qualification is highly desirable.
