Casual Biosecurity Field Officers are sought by AsureQuality for the National Invasive Ant Surveillance program in Auckland. You will work in small 2 to 4 person teams delivering field surveillance, trapping, data recording and sample handling at high risk sites such as seaports and airports, during daylight hours only. There are two work blocks: November 2026 to December 2026 and January 2027 to March 2027, with a mandatory one day induction on November 4 or 5. Ideal candidates are physically fit, able to walk long distances, and comfortable with short notice hours plus basic phone and computer use; respect for Te Reo Māori and tikanga is essential. Prior biosecurity experience is desirable but not essential; full training is provided. AsureQuality's Biosecurity team are looking for approximately 8 people to help deliver services that protect New Zealand against exotic pests and disease incursions.

Mandatory Induction:
Successful candidates must be available to attend a one-day induction on either Tuesday 4 November 2026 or Wednesday 5 November 2026 (date to be confirmed).
Location: We will hold the training at our Laboratory in Lynfield.
Meeting daily at our Laboratory in Lynfield or our Head office in Mt Wellington – to be confirmed closer to the time.
These casual roles will involve varying hours. This means the hours could be anything from 0 to 40 hours per week. Can only be worked during daylight hours, as these roles involve working outdoors.
