Constellis is seeking a Casual MTT Instructor to deliver firearms and tactics courses across the U.S. as a part-time, remote role with regular travel. You’ll lead and assist core and contracted classes, update curricula, conduct mobile trainings, and ensure safety and equipment accountability while meeting government and contract requirements. The ideal candidate has at least six years of teaching experience, U.S. citizenship, can pass background and drug screening, and shows strong organization, communication, and problem solving; bonus if you’ve developed lesson plans or taught in armed security settings. The position requires regular travel to various locations to conduct training classes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing prescribed curriculum
- Updates course curriculum as directed by Senior Instructor and/or Management staff
- Lead Instructs/Assistant Instructor for all Core Curriculum Courses and all Contracted Courses
- Teaches customized training courses
- Conducts mobile training. To include multiple locations in the U.S.
- Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment, to include TASER
- Evaluates the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training
- Maintains overall safety and organization of the training environment
- Ensures safety of students. Communicates and oversees compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Ensures accountability for all training equipment
- Identifies in a timely manner training requirements needed to maintain required certifications and company standards, and completes all required continuing education and refresher training programs
- Completes any additional training and/or certifications required by the government or the contract
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Minimum of six years of experience in a teaching environment
- Must be able to pass background investigation, drug screening and have no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms
- Basic proficiency in MS Office
- Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
- Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Experience developing lesson plans preferred
- Experience as an Instructor in an armed security environment preferred
PAY RATE: $70.00/ HR

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically on an outdoor range under various weather conditions, trainers will be required to climb stairs, carry equipment, work varying hours and under tight time constraints. Although business work hours are usually 8:00 am to 5:00pm, there may be night and or weekend hours as required.
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending. Travel is required.
